Renishaw Brings Equator-X™ 500 to METALEX 2025 | Smarter Process Control for Industry 4.0

Renishaw (Thailand) is set to showcase the Equator-X™ 500 at METALEX 2025, highlighting its latest innovation in shop floor measurement.

With faster inspection, dual-mode capability, and flexibility (or adaptability), the Equator-X 500 empowers manufacturers in Thailand to enhance quality assurance and embrace Industry 4.0 with confidence.
 

Expanding the Boundaries of Shop Floor Process Control

With the launch of the new Equator-X 500 gauge, shop floor measurement is elevated to a new level. The Equator-X system delivers fast measurement cycles and  high repeatability, while maintaining the same thermal stability and easy re-mastering process that the Equator series is known for. 

The innovative hexapod structure, carbon-fiber metrology struts, and linear motor drives enable high-speed motion without compromising accuracy. With a working volume of 500 mm in diameter and up to 400 mm in height, the Equator-X system enables manufacturers to inspect medium-to-large components directly on the shop floor.

Following the launch, Mr. Steve Bell, General Manager – SEA, Renishaw, commented:

Precision and Speed Redefined

The Equator-X™ 500 gauge introduces a dual-mode measurement capability — Absolute and Compare — allowing manufacturers to select the most efficient inspection method for each production scenario.

• In Absolute mode, the system measures parts at scanning speeds of up to 250 mm/s, providing full traceable in-process verification to ISO 10360 standards, ideal for first-off verification or 100% inspection of small-to-medium batch parts.
• In Compare mode, the system achieves ultra-high scanning speeds of up to 500 mm/s, perfect for large-batch or cycle-time-critical production where fast, repeatable results are essential.

It comes equipped with the industry-standard SP25M scanning probe and Renishaw’s latest MODUS™ IM software, offering an intuitive interface for programming, reporting, and operation.

Smart Connectivity for Automated Production

Compact, lightweight, and air-free, the Equator-X 500 can be easily deployed in-line or at-line. Besides using as a standalone shop floor inspection device, it can be integrated within fully automated production cells, supporting lights-out production environments and real-time data feedback for smart factories.
