Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry, has released statistics on the number of industrial factories licensed nationwide in March 2024. A total of 191 factories whereas the total capital was 58,444.48 million baht. Samut Prakan province had the highest number of new factory openings at 21, with a total investment of over 902.68 million baht.

In March 2024, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Samut Prakan - There were 21 new licensed factories with the total capital of 902.68 million baht. The employment increased with 1,344 more hires. The total machine power was 17,254.28 hp.

2) Samut Sakhon - There were 19 new licensed factories with the total capital of 499.85 million baht. The employment increased with 1,336 more hires. The total machine power was 6,623.39 hp.

3) Chonburi - There were 17 new licensed factories with the total capital of 603.36 million baht. The employment increased with  357 more hires. The total machine power was 8,103.32 hp.

However, when comparing only the province with the factory capital, the top three provinces were: Chachoengsao with the total capital of 16,611.23 million baht; followed by Ayutthaya with 15,541.50 million baht; and Kanchanaburi with 8,512.19 million baht.
