
Thailand’s Auto Production Rises 11.98% in June 2025 to 130,223 Units – First Half Still Down 4.8%
Thailand’s automotive industry saw signs of recovery in June 2025, with vehicle production growing by 11.98% year-over-year (YoY) to 130,223 units. However, total production for the first half of 2025 remains slightly down by 4.80% compared to the same period in 2024.
June 24, 2025 - Mr. Surapong Phaisitpattanapong, advisor to the chairman and spokesman of the FTI's Automotive Industry Club, revealed the following production figures for June 2025.
🔹 Monthly Production – June 2025
- Total vehicles produced: 130,223 units
- Down 6.44% from May 2025
- Up 11.98% YoY
🔹 First Half of 2025 (Jan–Jun)
- Total production: 724,715 units, down 4.80% YoY
Breakdown by Vehicle Type (June 2025)
🔸 Passenger Cars
- June 2025: 51,019 units, +18.56% YoY
- H1 2025: 264,668 units (-6.55% YoY), 36.52% of total production
Breakdown:
- ICE (Internal Combustion Engine): 27,020 units (▼9.61%)
- BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle): 3,304 units (▲314.55%)
- PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid): 317 units (▼46.99%)
- HEV (Hybrid Electric): 20,378 units (▲73.52%)
🔸 1-Ton Pickup Trucks
- June 2025: 78,492 units, +8.39% YoY
- H1 2025: 455,678 units (▼2.37%)

- Commercial pick-up: 12,694 units (▲25.71%)
- Double cab: 50,540 units (▲3.05%)
- Double cab BEV: 45 units (▲100%)
- PPV (Pick-up Passenger Vehicle): 15,213 units (▲14.58%)
🔸 Trucks & Buses
- June 2025: Light & heavy trucks: 712 units (▼15.14% YoY)
- H1 2025: 4,369 units (▼61.23%)
🌐 Export Production
- June 2025: 84,918 units (▲3.85% YoY), or 65.21% of total
- H1 2025: 475,013 units (▼7.98% YoY)
Exported Units:
- Passenger cars: 24,454 units (▲3.50%)
- 1-ton pickups: 60,464 units (▲4.00%)
- Commercial pickups: 5,463 units (▲24.22%)
- Double cab: 44,200 units (▲0.83%)
- PPV: 10,801 units (▲9.01%)
🏠 Domestic Sales Production
- June 2025: 45,305 units, +31.24% YoY
- H1 2025: 249,702 units, +1.90% YoY, or 34.46% of total production
Domestic Sales:
- Passenger cars: 26,565 units (▲36.89%)
- 1-ton pickups: 18,028 units (▲26.27%)
- Commercial pickups: 7,231 units (▲26.86%)
- Double cab: 6,385 units (▲22.60%)
- PPV: 4,412 units (▲30.96%)
Summary
Despite economic uncertainties, rising EV adoption and recovering domestic demand are helping stabilize Thailand's automotive sector. June 2025 marks a notable rebound with a nearly 12% YoY gain in production, though total output for H1 remains slightly contracted.
