Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 164 new factories nationwide were licensed in February 2022. The employment increased with more 2,916 people hired whereas the total capital was 5,188.79 million baht, decreasing from 7,191.73 baht of the previous month. 

Samut Sakhon was the province where 11 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 373.60 million baht.

In February 2022, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Samut Sakhon - There were 11 new licensed factories with the total capital of 373.60 million baht. The employment increased with 392 more hires. The total machine power was 5,778.12 hp.

2) Chonburi - There were 10 new licensed factories with the total capital of 328.37 million baht. The employment increased with 212 more hires. The total machine power was 4,057.21 hp.

3) Samut Prakan - There were 9 new licensed factories with the total capital of 536.85 million baht. The employment increased with 185 more hires. The total machine power was 1,983.13 hp.

 

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Samut Prakan with the total capital of 536.85 million baht. The followings were Samut Sakhon at 373.60 million baht, Chonburi at 328.37 million baht, Chachoengsao at 313.54 million baht and Kanchanaburi at 300.80 million baht.
