Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 280 new factories nationwide were licensed in September 2021. The employment increased with more 7,166 people hired whereas the total capital was 16,840.12 million baht, decreasing from 12,466.16 baht of the previous month. Samut Sakhon was the province where 30 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 590.96 million baht.

In September 2021, the top three provinces where new licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Samut Sakhon - There were 30 new licensed factories with the total capital of 590.96 million baht. The employment increased with 516 more hires. The total machine power was 6,384 hp.

2) Nakhon Pathom - There were 29 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,390.92 million baht. The employment increased with 473 more hires. The total machine power was 7,173 hp.

3) Bangkok - There were 21 new licensed factories with the total capital of 320.30 million baht. The employment increased with 473 more hires. The total machine power was 1,495 hp.

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Chumphon with the total capital of 7,466.12 million baht. The followings were Nakhon Pathom at 1,390.92 million baht, Sukhothai at 775.10 million baht, Samut Prakan at 670.84 million baht and Chonburi at 668.78 million baht.
