Car Production in February 2022 totaled 155,660 units. One-ton Pickup Increased both Domestic and Export
Mr. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, Vice-Chairman and the spokesman for the Automotive Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), in the press conference, revealed the total production for all vehicles in February and the expected total number for 2022.
Total car production
The February production reached at 155,660 units. It increased 0.30% Year-on-Year (YoY) and increased 2.58% from January 2022 as 151,747 units. Produced trucks for domestic use increased 27.82% (YoY) and Pickup truck for export increased 10.95% (YoY). Produced passenger cars for export decreased 42.50% (YoY) and Produced passenger cars for domestic use decreased 14.79% (YoY) The production number of this year totaled 307,407 units, rising 1.35% from the same period of last year.
Total production of 155,660 vehicles in February 2022, composed of:
- Passenger car production at 41,898 units, 28.64% decrease (YoY)
- Bus under 10 tons and over 10 tons, at zero, 100% decrease (YoY)
- Truck at 113,762 units, 17.91% increase (YoY)
- 1 Ton Pickup truck at 110,360 units, 17.25% increase (YoY)
- Pickup truck less than 5 tons – over 10 tons, at 3,402 units, 43.97% increase (YoY)
Car production for export
In February 2022, the car production for export totaled 82,300 units, representing 52.87% of the total production, decreasing 6.81% (YoY)
- 16,873 passenger cars, down 42.50% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck for export at 65,427 units, 10.95% increase (YoY)
Car production for domestic use
In February 2022, there were 73,360 units produced for domestic use, representing 47.13% of the whole production or an increase of 9.68% (YoY)
- 25,025 passenger cars, down 14.79% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck at 44,933 units, 27.82% increase (YoY)
