Chonburi: Champions for the largest number of new factories in April 2022

Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 162 new factories nationwide were licensed in April 2022. The employment increased with more 6,079 people hired whereas the total capital was 27,477.66 million baht, increasing from 11,159.06 baht of the previous month. 

Chonburi was the province where 17 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 937.89 million baht.

In April 2022, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Chonburi - There were 17 new licensed factories with the total capital of 937.89 million baht. The employment increased with 648 more hires. The total machine power was 10,984.59 hp.

2) Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Samut Prakan - Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya There were 9 new licensed factories with the total capital of 18,339.17 million baht. The employment increased with 2,431 more hires. The total machine power was 39,965.96 hp and Samut Prakan There were 9 new licensed factories with the total capital of 436.44 million baht. The employment increased with 378 more hires. The total machine power was 6,976.98 hp.

3) Samut Sakhon - There were 8 new licensed factories with the total capital of 566.55 million baht. The employment increased with 341 more hires. The total machine power was 4,847.05 hp.

 

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya with the total capital of 18,339.17 million baht. The followings were Chachoengsao at 1,748.20 million baht, Nakhon Ratchasima at 1,047.64 million baht, Prachinburi at 652.47 million baht and Samut Sakhon at 566.55 million baht.
