Car Production in June 2022 totaled 143,016 units.
Mr. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, Vice-Chairman and the spokesman for the Automotive Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), in the press conference, revealed the total production for all vehicles in June and the expected total number for 2022.
Total car production
The June production reached at 143,016 units. It increased 6.53% Year-on-Year (YoY) and increased 10.67% from May 2022 as 129,231 units. Produced for domestic use increased 20.69% (YoY) and Produced for export decreased 4.79% (YoY). Produced passenger cars for export decreased 53.52% (YoY) The production number of this year totaled 870,109 units, rising 3.02% from the same period of last year.
Total production of 143,016 vehicles in June 2022, composed of:
- Passenger car production at 43,805 units, 11.89% decrease (YoY)
- Bus under 10 tons and over 10 tons, at 2 units, 200% increase (YoY)
- Truck at 99,209 units, 17.36% increase (YoY)
- 1 Ton Pickup truck at 95,496 units, 17.01% increase (YoY)
- Pickup truck less than 5 tons – over 10 tons, at 3,713 units, 27.33% increase (YoY)
Car production for export
In June 2022, the car production for export totaled 71,002 units, representing 49.65% of the total production, decreasing 4.79% (YoY)
- 10,466 passenger cars, down 53.52% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck for export at 60,536 units, 16.29% increase (YoY)
Car production for domestic use
In June 2022, there were 72,014 units produced for domestic use, representing 50.35% of the whole production or an increase of 20.69% (YoY)
- 33,339 passenger cars, increase 22.58% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck at 34,960 units, 18.28% increase (YoY)
