Mr. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, Vice-Chairman and the spokesman for the Automotive Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), in the press conference, revealed the total production for all vehicles in April and the expected total number for 2023.

Total car production

The April production reached at 117,636 units. It decreased 0.13% Year-on-Year (YoY) and decreased 34.59% from March 2023 as 165,612 units. Produced for domestic use decreased 11.31% (YoY) and produced for export increased 10.04% (YoY). Produced passenger cars for export increased 21.06% (YoY) The production number this year totaled 625,423 units, rising 4.61% from the same period of last year.  

Total production of 117,636 vehicles in April 2023, composed of:

- Passenger car production at 40,366 units, 10.54% increase (YoY)
- Bus under 10 tons and over 10 tons, at 14 units
- Truck at 77,256 units, 4.94% decrease (YoY)
- 1 Ton Pickup truck at 75,148 units, 4.38% decrease (YoY)
- Pickup truck less than 5 tons – over 10 tons, at 2,108 units, 21.28% decrease (YoY)

Car production for export

In April 2023, the car production for export totaled 67,907 units, representing 57.73% of the total production, increasing 10.04% (YoY)

- 19,796 passenger cars, up 21.06% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck for export at 48,111 units, 6.06% increase (YoY)

Car production for domestic use

In April 2023, there were 49,729 units produced for domestic use, representing 42.27% of the whole production or a decrease of 11.31% (YoY)

- 20,570 passenger cars, 2.01% increase (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck at 27,037 units, 18.64% decrease (YoY)
