Mr. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, Vice-Chairman and the spokesman for the Automotive Industry Group, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), in the press conference, revealed the total production for all vehicles in March and the expected total number for 2023.

Total car production

The March production reached at 179,848 units. It increased 4.16% Year-on-Year (YoY) and increased 8.60% from February 2023 as 165,612 units. Produced for domestic use decreased 4.15% (YoY) and produced for export increased 11.72% (YoY). Produced passenger cars for export increased 26.34% (YoY) The production number this year totaled 507,787 units, rising 5.77% from the same period of last year.  

Total production of 179,848 vehicles in March 2023, composed of:

- Passenger car production at 63,840 units, 29.41% increase (YoY)
- Bus under 10 tons and over 10 tons, at 8 units
- Truck at 116,000 units, 5.95% decrease (YoY)
- 1 Ton Pickup truck at 112,970 units, 5.79% decrease (YoY)
- Pickup truck less than 5 tons – over 10 tons, at 3,030 units, 11.48% decrease (YoY)

Car production for export

In March 2023, the car production for export totaled 100,986 units, representing 56.15% of the total production, increasing 11.72% (YoY)

- 25,881 passenger cars, up 26.34% (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck for export at 75,105 units, 7.43% increase (YoY)

Car production for domestic use

In March 2023, there were 78,862 units produced for domestic use, representing 43.85% of the whole production or a decrease of 4.15% (YoY)

- 37,959 passenger cars,  31.59% increase (YoY)
- One-ton pickup truck at 37,865 units, 24.28% decrease (YoY)
