The Next-Generation Automotive Research Center under Thailand Automotive Institute released the report on the new registration of Electric Vehicles (xEV) and electric motorcycles as the followings:

The new registration for Electric Vehicles (xEV) in July 2022 totaled 7,984 units, increasing 36% (MoM), accounting for 9.7% of the total newly registered vehicles. 

• For Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), the new registration totaled 6,743 units, comprising 5,756 HEVs and 987 PHEVs, an increase of 104% (YoY) and 52% (YoY) in order. 
• The new registration for BEV totaled 1,241 units, a increase of 114% (MoM) and rising of 464% (YoY), according to the steady increasing public interest in EV.

The new registration for motor vehicles in August 2022 totaled 81,702 units, an increase of 28% from the same period of the previous year. There were internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles totaled 73,718 units, accounting for 90% of the total newly registered vehicles and the growth rate increased by 23%

In August 2022, the registration for new electric motorcycles totaled 1,119 units, a increase of 23% (MoM), accounting for 0.5% of the total newly registered motorcycles. 

There were only 72 HEVs and the growth rate continued to decline. This is the result from the performance and fuel consumption is not different from the ICE car, while the BEV is still popular. Although the BEV's volume was not much at 1,047 units, it's likely to continue to grow with an increasing 228% and almost all of them were personal motorcycles

• For HEV, the new registration totaled 72 units, increasing 4% (YoY) and the number rose from 51 units in the previous month.     

• The new registration for BEV totaled 1,047 units, an increase of 331% (YoY) and the number was more than the previous month which 857 BEV motorcycles were registered.   

The new registration for motorcycles in August 2022 totaled 189,355 units, a increase of 67% from the same period of the previous year. There were internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles totaled 188,236 units, accounting for 99.4% of the total newly registered vehicles and the growth rate increased by 67%
