Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 168 new factories nationwide were licensed in October 2022. The employment increased with more 3,140  people hired whereas the total capital was 7,429.80 million baht, decreasing from 9,951.83 baht of the previous month. 

Samut Sakhon was the province where 19 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 1,043.52 million baht.

In October 2022, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Samut Sakhon - There were 19 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,043.52 million baht. The employment increased with 516 more hires. The total machine power was 6,742.55 hp.

2) Pranakorn Sri Ayutthaya - There were 14 new licensed factories with the total capital of 1,161.27 million baht. The employment increased with 275 more hires. The total machine power was 12,169.30 hp.

3) Rayong - There were 9 new licensed factories with the total capital of 375.00 million baht. The employment increased with 131 more hires. The total machine power was 2,465.75 hp.

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Pranakorn Sri Ayutthaya with the total capital of 1,161.27 million baht. The followings were Samut Sakhon at 1,043.52 million baht, Prachinburi at 500.00 million baht, Saraburi at 423.38 million baht and Rayong at 375.00 million baht.
