Samut Prakan - Samut Sakhon: Champions for the largest number of new factories in February 2023

Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 157 new factories nationwide were licensed in February 2023. The employment increased with more 2,908 people hired whereas the total capital was 10,275.17 million baht, increasing from 9,050.69 baht of the previous month.

Samut Prakan - Samut Sakhon provinces had the same 15 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 2,706.26 million baht. 

In February 2023, the top three provinces where newly licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon - Both provinces had the same 15 new licenses factories. Samut Prakan, the total capital was 1,383.55 million baht. The employment increased with 465 more hires. The total machine power was 15,265.78 hp. While Samut Sakhon, the total capital was 376.80 million baht. The employment increased with 276 more hires. The total machine power was 6,683.90 hp.

2) Chonburi - There were 10 new licensed factories with the total capital of 228.90 million baht. The employment increased with 168 more hires. The total machine power was 4,180.00 hp.

3) Pathum Thani - There were 8 new licensed factories with the total capital of 510.56 million baht. The employment increased with 181 more hires. The total machine power was 3,146.30 hp.

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Chaiyaphum with the total capital of 2,230.00 million baht. The followings were Mukdahan at 1,476.29 million baht, Samut Prakan at 1,383.55 million baht, Nonthaburi at 609.00 million baht and Satun at 529.55 million baht.
