Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry reported that 174 new factories nationwide were licensed in October 2021. The employment increased with more 8,846 people hired whereas the total capital was 10,823.14 million baht, decreasing from 16,840.12 baht of the previous month. Samut Prakan was the province where 19 new factories opened, the largest number with the total capital of 680.91 million baht.

In October 2021, the top three provinces where new licensed factories are located are as follows: 

1) Samut Prakan - There were 19 new licensed factories with the total capital of 680.91 million baht. The employment increased with 759 more hires. The total machine power was 8,840.80 hp.

2) Chonburi - There were 14 new licensed factories with the total capital of 492.11 million baht. The employment increased with 461 more hires. The total machine power was 19,570.61 hp.

3) Samut Sakhon - There were 13 new licensed factories with the total capital of 434.54 million baht. The employment increased with 479 more hires. The total machine power was 10,148.71 hp.

However, when comparing only with the factory capital in the province, the champion was Nakhon Pathom with the total capital of 2,221.72 million baht. The followings were Songkhla at 1,567.76 million baht, Sa Kaeo at 1,474.90 million baht, Prachinburi at 1,002 million baht and Samut Prakan at 680.91 million baht.
