NTT E-Drone Technology is set to launch “AC101 Connect”, its newly developed agricultural drone for precision automatic spraying of pesticides, in spring 2024

Japan, 3 October 2023 - NTT E-Drone Technology is set to launch its newly developed agricultural drone, the "AC101 Connect," in spring 2024. This in-house creation boasts a complete redesign of its flight controller, control board, transmitter, and spraying equipment in collaboration with Switzerland’s Auterion. Compared to its predecessor, the "AC101," this model enables even more precise and advanced spraying techniques. Pricing details are yet to be disclosed.

With a spreading width of 5 meters, one battery can cover up to 2.5 hectares. The drone's compact size is tailored for easy navigation through Japan's typically narrow and uneven fields.

The drone is compatible with the "Network RTK" positioning system, which combines satellite data with correction information derived from nearby electronic reference points, reducing errors to just a few centimeters. This enhancement allows for more accurate automatic navigation. Moreover, updates to the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) will expand the number of trackable satellites, providing increased stability in navigation beyond automatic operations.

Through integration with Germany’s BASF Digital Farming’s cultivation management support system, "Zarubio Field Manager," the company will introduce a feature, starting in summer 2024, that displays a map on the transmitter to facilitate fertilization according to crop growth conditions.
