Thailand Vehicle Production Forecast 2022
FTI forecasts that vehicle production in 2022 will be around 1,700,000 - 1,800,000 units. The new wave of the COVID-19 outbreak and the chip shortage crisis will be the main issues affecting car production.

On December 21, 2021, Surapong Paisitphatanapong Vice President and Spokesperson for Automotive Industry Group The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) revealed that the production of automobiles in 2022 will be approximately 1,700,000 - 1,800,000 units, divided into domestic sales of 800,000 - 850,000 units and exports 900,000 - 950,000 units.
Factors that will affect Thailand's automotive production next year still need to assess the risk of a new wave of COVID-19 outbreak as well as chip shortage that will affect the car's production in some models.
